Kenny Scharf

Kenny Scharf (b. 1953) is a leading artist who participated in the East Village art movement along with Keith A. Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, revolutionizing and resisting mainstream American art in the late 1980s. Breaking away from the elitism in fine art, he made various attempts to make art more accessible. He embraced popular culture into his creations and infuses daily life with his art through diverse media such as fashion, animation, and performance.
